Walt Disney World Resort hotels
Lake Buena Vista, Florida, USA (Animal Kingdom Lodge, Grand Floridian, Art of Animation, Contemporary and others)
One of the most reliable hotel-dining systems for celiacs, with chefs who bring food from the kitchen at buffets and allergy picks on plates; allergy meals take longer.
🍳 Breakfast
| Gluten-free bread | Yes |

| Separate GF toaster | Not reported |
| Made-to-order GF dishes | Yes |
| Buffet cross-contact | Labels or safeguards reported |
Buffet restaurants give out an allergen guide, and a chef can bring GF plates from the kitchen instead (Mickey waffles, GF donuts, omelettes); at Boma the chef advised getting omelettes from the kitchen, not the buffet. Resort quick-service spots offer a GF bounty platter (eggs, waffles or pancakes, bacon or sausage, potatoes).
🍽️ On-site restaurants
Disney's official process: note the allergy on dining reservations and tell your server; a chef can speak with you. Allergy meals are made with separate utensils and pans and marked with coloured allergy picks.
How to ask for gluten-free at Walt Disney World Resort hotels
- Add the allergy to every dining reservation. Guests with 4 or more allergies or complex needs can email Special.Diets@DisneyWorld.com, no sooner than 14 days before arrival (official).
- At buffets, ask for a chef and for food from the kitchen; fried items on the buffet are cross-contaminated.
